Scarfini Pro 2012

A mixture of tension and excitement has been building up for weeks awaiting the 7* Scarfini Pro contest on the Bluff, with some of the worlds top athletes competing for the title of the Scarfini Pro Champion. This is a mobile event, so weather depending, it takes place at the either Anstey's Beach or the Scarfini Household. The event contains a mixture of dressing up, playing weird drinking games, doing some form of olympic aqua aerobics, trying our best not to drown when we "surf", traumatising every single other person on the beach with our ridiculous antics, and then a whole bunch of other disgustingly beautiful chaotic moments. We were all winners in our hearts.

Carrie-Lee and Michael's Wedding

A few very delayed photos.
I just typed out a very long post, and somehow lost it. Dang.

Carrie-Lee and Michael's Wedding: 30/07/2011:

What an amazing day! They had their wedding at Umtamvuna River Lodge on a little beach. It had been raining for a few days before, so I'm so glad the sun came out for their special day. Carrie-lee handmade most of the decorations, and everything was just beautiful! The food was good, the venue looked amazing, and the people were average... haaaha I'm funny. No I'm not. :) Anyway, I could sit here and type forever about how much fun it was, etc. but I think you can just look at a few of the photo's instead. I couldn't take too many, but here's a couple...

nooooo weeeeeeeyyyyyy

Hiiii!

Yeeeow this is a busy month, and it's only the 3rd day! I can't really complain about it too much though, because I like working :) Ahh but there's so much to do - I'm getting scared, I need to get back to my silly A4 to-do list.

SATURDAY:
We had 25 family members come stay over on Saturday night. They all just came back from a boat cruise, and my parents hadn't seen them in a while so they came to stay. What a cool bunch of people! and very entertaining! I really need to improve my afrikaans though. haha...

Probably the 3rd time rugby has ever been watched in our lounge.

That's only half of them. I never watch rugby, but it was quite funny to watch because the house was pretty much split between sharks and stormers. Things got loud. haha

SUNDAY:
I woke up early and said goodbye to the million family members, and then made my way to town for a KZN trial. The waves were tiny, but still fun! :) Wooo. I made the Senior team. Yay...I didn't realise that S.A's was quite so soon though - it's next week and I haven't booked tickets or accommodation! oooops.

Blades of Glory-ish outfits.

Angelique and I getting ready for Kyle's 22nd at the ice rink! It was really fun and at least I know now that I dont have a chance of  becoming a profesional ice skater. Not that I ever wanted to, but I'm just throwing it out there.

Later on we went out to Taco Zulu for a bit, and then Sasha for the first time for the GMT Sin City thing. Downhill. Yesssss... I jumped around in circles, I wore a 3 man jersey, I did some SAWEEEEET card tricks and I walked around barefoot for a while before realising that it's probably not a good idea.

Anyway, it was a good weekend! :)
I dont have anything else to write.

FUNSUNZI - stupid word.

I'm dedicating this post to the wonderful spandex humans. You people really outdid yourselves with the suits! Like really outdid yourselves - seriously, good luck trying to top that. Its not going to happen.ha. Hiiiigh five!

This is not my photo. Don't sue me. Please.

My happy place.
Oh.
My.
Dog.

I want to turn 18 again next year! I've had the most amazing couple of days!
After splashy I had a nice little chilled braai at my house with my friendies. Thanks people! I like you guys a lot! :)

I'm going to be "that person" now and talk about Splashy probably until next year. It changed my life once again. How can anyone not like that place? It's got grass, and a river, and music, and friends and tents and stuff! Its wonderful! LOVE IT. Met some new people, saw some ridiculous things...I wish I took more photos ; I wasn't brave enough to take my camera out of the campsite, so it just lived in the car the whole time.

So things were all going well and I was such a happy kid until I realised that I have to pitch my tent at some stage.
Biggest.Hack.Ever...
Next year I'm going to take one of those convenient pop up tents which aren't so convenient when you have to fold it back up.

Very early drive!

Nearly there!

I cant really sit here for 4 years and type out everything that happened; there was too much going on, but everyday pretty much looked like this:

Wake up at a ridiculous hour in the cold. Chill in the campsite and get smoked out by our fire till the sun comes to play. Make our way to the river with our inflatables. Try not to fall down the hill. Try not to fall in the river. Laugh at people falling in the river. Fall in the river and freeze. Sit there for hours and get festive. Make our way up the verrrry long hill. Go watch some good bands. Get smoked out by the fire in our campsite again. Put on 6 layers of clothing. Go watch more good bands. Play in the beer tent. Observe the silliness. Get involved in it. Sleep. Start again.

Step 1.
step 11.

I watched a man stab himself in the shoulder with a broken bottle.
He was in our campsite for some reason, and started joking with his friend about wanting to fight people or something so then he just broke a bottle and asked his friend to stab him. His friend kindly declined the offer, so he stabbed himself.

This is Mark.
He slept like this for 36 hours.
He ended up in our campsite for 5 hours playing his very out of tune guitar and licking his harmonica.
I don't know how he even survived the weekend - we convinced him it was Tuesday and that Splashy was over, and he just kept saying how good his weekend must have been. haha. But he was entertaining and I'm quite sure he needs new organs now.

 Mark's Gweetar.
Mmmmmmkay. So it was good. That's all.

Thanks for reading my ramblings.
